Dr. Kajel Shah is a periodontist who believes great dental care starts with truly getting to know her patients. After practicing as a general dentist for more than a decade, she went on to specialize in periodontics, giving her a unique understanding of both the restorative and surgical sides of dentistry. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida and her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University before completing her periodontal residency at the Roudebush VA Medical Center. Dr. Shah specializes in surgical extractions, dental implants, bone and soft tissue grafting, and the treatment of severe periodontal disease.

While Dr. Shah is passionate about providing exceptional surgical care, her goal goes beyond the procedure itself. She takes the time to listen, explain each patient’s condition, answer questions, and make sure they feel comfortable and confident in their treatment plan. Having experienced serious illness as a patient herself, Dr. Shah understands how overwhelming a diagnosis can feel and brings that personal perspective to every patient interaction. Her passion for dentistry was also inspired by her childhood dentist, whose kindness and compassion toward every patient made a lasting impression on her. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Dr. Shah now enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Outside the office, her family loves hiking, traveling, taking road trips, enjoying Indian food, and cheering on her children, who are both enthusiastic tennis fans.
